hi, i'm mohan!

Mohan Gandavabi is a New Jersey and Brooklyn-based artist specializing in character design, painted digital works, comic art, and 2d animation. He also has experience in graphic design, layout design, and concept art. He attends Pratt Institute, majoring in 2D Animation.
Mohan’s works are colorful, cute, and full of personality just like him. He enjoys drawing feminine characters in cool and cute clothing, and much of his art is inspired by early 2000s shoujou anime and manga.
The bright look of his art contrasts the deep and emotional stories he enjoys telling through it. Using the medium of 2D digital art, he explores gender identity, womanhood through a transgender lens, and complicated family dynamics. He is currently working on an original story told in a web-comic medium centered around a love story between a robot girl and a human girl.

my personal project

"can android girls really fall in love?" was born in 2024 when i had the idea for a love story between a human girl and a robot that would explore the meaning of love and fantastical elements such as a robot girl becoming sentient.
this story has infiltrated many of my class projects and every waking moment of my day.
i began writing the story of celine and kiyomi in early 2024 when the two of them were just one of my other oc's backup dancers. they turned into so much more than that, and now i am so excited to share their story with the world.
